Profile

It's not very common to see first division clubs running after a player who never stepped his feet on first division soccer, but we have seen very few times big clubs walking behind the youngsters. Once such youngster is Hassan Raushan.

Raushan or Machey, as his friends call him, joined Valencia after his secondary education. It was not only Valencia looked to get the signature of this talented player, New Radiant and IFC were hoping to include Raushan in their squad as well.

Raushan came into the focus of first division clubs from junior national teams. Like Ali Ashfaag, Raushan too is a boy trained well in the youth development programe.

When Ali Shiyam scored a hat trick against Bhutan in the opening game of 2003 SAFF championship, many including the media considered him as the first Maldivian player to score a hat trick in an international game. But they were wrong. Surprisingly, it was this young Hassan Raushan who scored the first international hat trick, his 3 goals came against Sri Lanka in AFC under 14 tournament held in 2001.

Raushan himself, beleives that hat trick is the most unforgettable moment he had in his short soccer career.

After joining Valencia for the season 2006, Raushan believes his biggest challenge will be to compete the experienced players and get a position in the first eleven. But his talent and form gives many the hint that he will surely be included in the first eleven, as some criticised on not including this player in the national team squad that appeared in the recently ended SAFF championship 2005.

So far he scored 15 goals fore Junior national teams.

Winning a gold medal for Maldives is Raushan's current dream now.

" I want to win a gold with national team. That's my biggest dream now" said the youngster with full of hope.
