National Team’s attendance has been the key talking point among football loving fans across the country at the moment. The team which would represent the beautiful country’s attendance is kind of zero when it came for the fourth day even.
Unlike previous times, the national team was formulated based on the final 21 players who would represent the national team. Whether they attend the practice or not, the players would be able to go to Doha to represent the national team.
But where is the pride? Where is the love for the national team! Some players who are in the national team are able to enjoy the holidays while the practices resumed and some of the players were going out for night fishing after skipping the practices. But 6 or 7 players have to work hard and train in the sun? what would happen to the motivation of these players
It was a huge shock when Kokee (Shimaz) was absent in the practices for the past two days at least, but he was in the BG Sports Baibalaa Team. Baibalaa is considered as a highly physical game and the probability of the player been injured is relatively very high. If he gets injured it would be a huge blow for the team as the coach has selected only 21 players for the squad.
FAM’s vice chairman, Addo showed no resilience regarding the matter and said that he would be brought to FAM for discussion
‘We called him and asked him not to play in the Baibalaa competition. However, he played. So we are bringing him for a hearing today”
National Team striker, Dhagandey is been absent from the practices and it seems he is suffering from an injury. However, injured players are also expected to attend the practice and watch the others practice. So he is also expected to see the match.
Yesterday, Shinaz was absent from the practices and after calling him, he did not answer the phone and later National team’s official went in person to get him from his place? Is this how national team works?
Some of the important players are also missing in the squad as they do not get leave from the private offices! This proves to be a key issue at the moment from all the national teams! The government of Maldives should also give high importance on this issue
Some of the players were playing tournaments in their islands and were not able to attend the practices earlier. Who would suffer if they get an injury? Ofcourse senior players are paid even if they even do not play a single match. Easy cash for them right? But my question really arises is why there is no commitment from the players towards the practices and why can’t FAM do anything for it?
This has been regarded as one of the poorest commitments shown by the players towards the national team practices and it would definitely affect the morale of the players.
So, for sure when the team leaves for Oman on 9th November, the team lacks commitment and desire to show the spirit of the Maldives National Team. I urge the players to show it, to play for the nation. Every single fan of Maldives football really counts on you guys!
FAM should also think about it as we are really counting on the board to improve the commitment and the desire!

these kind of things will sink our football..the countries number 1 sport and this is realli dissapointing to see how much the players care for the nation...i realli wonder if this goes i think we are about to rebreak 17 goal record !! look if we work we can beat hongkong and the india and even snatch draw against iran or even beat them on a narrow margin ..we have the talent all we need is concentration and hard work !!
guyz pls just dont kick the hopes of maldivian football fans..its not about 11 players or about the national team salary but it means a 300,000 people's hopes to c their nation succeed...do be serious for the sake of our nation - naii

i dont even expect the team to win a single match! with this kinda attitude towards the game,no way! som kind of action shud b taken against these kind of things or else it wil keep repeating - gok

so we dont know what will happen to maldives football in the future. FAM better to think about that and they also have to do many thing for improve management role of national team and help to local teams as well. = Sad fan =

This kind of these should not be tolerated. These so called good playes should be kicked out. I dont care as long as we win or lose. We should have players who are going to give 110% for our country. Let dhagandey and kokee and mummu stay at home if they feel they are so good? Is kokee as little as his name sounds? Why is he stupid enough to play baibalaa a major regional tournament is around the corner and he is in the squad? i know that they will get angry with maldive soccer for bringing these things up. But i beleieve that you are trying to help. But one thing i would like to say is please also comment on those people who are trying hard to get our team on their feet - maldivian

Show some pride guyz.You have been selected to play for the national team.Some players are just up to themselves.They dont have respect to the national team what so ever.This type of attitude will ruin our football - one united
