I am confident that players will do great : Chris
19 October 2005

Chris: Dhuring his very first practice with Valencia
this year

Male', Maldives - Chris is currently in Austria to accompany his wife to a medical treatment and gave the interview while in Perth, Australia. According to thim, his wife is getting special treatment and getting well slowly. Chris keep in touch with Valencia, management and players and he thinks that Valencia doesn't have anything more to lose in this last game and when they don't have anything to lose they will play with more confidence.

" I am fully confident that the players will do anything possible to do a great job, no matter how hard it will be." He said.

Msoccer: Do you feel confident that Valencia would win with a 5 goal margin tomorrow? It's known New Radiant have one of the best defense in the league.

I think 5 goals difference doesn't make anything ...easier. It is an extremely small chance as everyone considers it, but I am a fighter and I know my players well enough to mention that as long as there is the smallest hope, they'll go for it. About NR, yes they are a team to be considered at all times, but at this moment they are not as strong as they were during most of the season (without Thoriq, Boyko, etc).  So yes, we'll play our very small chance in a very serious & also suprising (for
many) manner.

Msoccer: As new radiant management doesn't take the game so seriously will your players take this as an advantage?

I think New Radiant are giving the match as much importance as they consider, and I don't dream that they will give free chances to Valencia.  We have to treat the game very serious, do our job, and take from the match as much as it will be possible. If for a great day,  my team is able of a big surprise. Do not forget that the team undergo a specific training program for the last 4 weeks, program special designated to bring them at their best (peak) fit & shape they could have for this season. We also have some of the best strikers around with Daghey, Ali Umar, Habeeb & Mugey. Just to confirm that, during the last 3 practice matches we won v U20 National Team (two times 5-0), and once v Hurryia (4-0); that leaded to the excellent 10-1 (for real) performance v an IFC, that tried their best at that time, to qualify for the first four. So, I am very surprised of Hurryia's coach statement regarding NR approach as long as they received a free (and very unfair) gift from IFC's non combat during the second half of their match 3 days ago !!!

Msoccer: when will you return?

Hard to say now as a few things still need me here (my wife can't drive, etc so I need to take her to all appointments, treatment, etc) so it is a small chance to get things organized for the next week; most likely in January, for the next season.

Msoccer: Do you feel the traning programs are going ok?

I am fully confident that the training program in place for the last period went excellent, as I kept a regular contact with my assistants as well as with most players & management. So yes I am fully confident that the team is extremely fit & confident for the match. And they are also very determined to do a great job.

Msoccer: What do you feel about tomorrow's game? and as two players are suspended and there are injury problems..

There were some problems from the last match (v IFC) with Ludda & Niya suspended for next match. Also some (minor) injuries created a question for two days, but at this moment the team is ready with two players that were just waiting the chance to prove that they deserve to play in the first eleven, and with our captain, Assad recovered and ready to push the team in an unique manner. The first eleven will be released only by Bima, before the match.
