New Radiant celebrated season's success

Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant had a ceremony to celebrate their success in this year's season. The reception held at Salsa Cafe' tonight was attended by FAM officials, New Radiant's management, players and media reporters.
During the ceremony Ali Azim, media cordinator of New Radiant announced that New Radiant reached their goals this year.
"We wanted to go to the second round of AFC cup and to qualify for the next year's AFC Cup. Winning FA Cup confirmed us a place in AFC Cup, so we have achieved our goals this year "
New Radiant not only reached the second round of AFC Cup but also they reached the semi finals of AFC cup. This is the first time a maldivian club has achieved so much in a continental tournament.
Mr. Azim also announced next year's mission in the reception.
"We would like to go to the second round of AFC Cup and to qualify for AFC Cup 2007. We also would like to be FAM's best club" he said.
Since FAM introduce a ranking scheme no other club than Valencia won season's best club, but critics beleive New Radiant's success in AFC Cup and their performance in local tournaments will have a high possibility that they will be this year's no. one club.
After the opening remarks Ibrahim Ismail, the general secretary of FAM distriubted jerseys New Radiant used in AFC Cup to New Radiant players.
