| Four names go out of national team squad

MALDIVES - From 40 to 25 and the national squad has now gone down to 21 said Assistant coach Ihsaan (Saanthi). The four players recently gone out of the squad are Anwar Abdul Ghanee of Valencia but now a Victory player, Husnee and Mausoom (Maasey) of Hurriyya and Nafiu of Victory.
Therefore, these four players will not be included in the squad leaving to Malaysia for practice matches and some more names might go out before or after the practices in Malaysia.
FAM has arranged two practice matches with two Malaysian league teams. Maldives national team dressing up for the upcoming SAFF championship will depart to Karachi from Malaysia.
The fourth edition of this regional tournament will be held in Pakistan from Dec.7 to 17th. Maldives will face Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in group stages. Maldives have reached the final of two tournaments but never won a gold so far.
