Ashfaag scores for Maldives to win their first friendly

Bangkok, Thailand - Ali Ashfaag's only goal helped Maldives to grab a 1-0 win against Tobacco Monopoly, the current champion of Thailand, in their warm up for upcoming SAFF Championship.

Ashfaag's scored the only goal in the 41st minute from a pass by Mohamed Arif (Bonda), but Ashfaag's long distance shot came after beating two opponent players.

According to Assistant coach Ihsan (Saanthi) Maldives dominated the game and the opponent face some dangerous attacks from Ashfaag and Oppo. He highlighted that Oppo missed two very good chances.

"The opponents were strong, they have two Brazil and one European player, this a strong team in Thai league and we played a very good game against them" Ihsan said.

Sobah and Nasir came in as substitutes for Shifan(Kudattey) and Jameel. The next match will be played on 17th against BEC Tero sasana.
