MALDIVES - The 'football for hope' programme kicked off in Male' today.The program aimed to mark the unity day and to commemorate Tsunami victims was was kicked off by national team captain Assad and the chairman of Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Mr. Abdul Shukoor in a ceremony held at turf pitch.
During the two hour event that started at 1600hrs, national team players and some senior officials of FAM participated in a match and players of other age groups also played matches.
Other football related events like football tennis, target shooting, spot kicks were also held.
