It was unfortunate that we couldn't score more says Stoikov

Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant coach Stoikov said the it was their unfortunate that they couldn't score more goals against Jordanian giant Al Hussein in AFC Cup quarter final match played yesterday.


"It was unfortunate that we could not score more goals. I am very satisfied with the way my players played in the game. They worked really hard to win the game. They deserve it. " Stoikov said to maldivesoccer.

After wasting numerous chances created by Thoriq, Fazeel, Ahmed Mohamed and Boyko, New Radiant were able to break the deadlock 5 minutes from full time.

New radiant will be leaving to Jordan on 19th of this month.

When asked about the strategy that will be adopted in the next leg, he said that he has not decided on how they will play.

"We will surely defend, and will try to score on the opportunites that we get."

indicating the possibilities that New Radiant will counter attack and defend in the game played in Jordan.

He was full of praise to the New Radiant supporters.

"I thank new radiant supporters for their support. They were magnificient. The supporters were sincere and they showed the team spirit yesterday.I thank all of them who supported new radiant yesterday."

Asked about the refereeing he said that the refeeering was professional "Referees are very professional and they did a good job. The players deserve the booking."

New Radiant will play the second leg on 21st of September in Jordan.

New coach said that he has no injuries worries and all of them are fit for the next game. the players who were substituted are fit to play the next game and they have no worries about any suspensions.
