I am thinking about atleast reaching second round says Mauroof
04 August 2005

Male', MALDIVES - Victory had another disappointing result in ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League tonight when they were beaten by Hurriyya by 3-2. Victory had the lead twice and Hurriyya came from behind each time and increase the lead in the 84th minute.

Victory opened the scoring in the 2nd minute when a corner by Ismail was headed into goal by Fidhadhi. Hurriyyaa came from behind just after two minutes when Husnee scored their first in the 4th minute. Fidhadhi again gave Victory lead in the 12th minute when he headed again from a corner by Ismail. Hurriyyaa leveled the game before the half time. Onu scored for them in the 26th minute.

Not only Hurriyya's winning goal, which came in the 84th minute from a penalty kick by Onu, was attracted by the spectators, but also the Ass. Referee Hakeem's run away from the field in the 66th minute left spectators wondering. After almost 10 mins of delay another Ass. Referee came in to replace Hakeem.

Later on, we have find out that Hakeem ran away because of continous throwing of things like bottles to him by nearby spectators. Some spectators near referees changing room said, they saw dissappointment on the face of Hakeem when he came down from the field. " He looked very dissapointed, at first I thought a spectator said something that really hurts him" a spectator said.

During the media conference, Hurriyya's coach said he satisfied with the win, but his boys performance was low compared to that of Valencia's match.

Victory's coach Mauroof said his team appeared without many key players due to suspension and injury. He also said that their qualification to the next round is questionable. " I'm sure only the best six teams of this round will qualify to the next round and all my thinking is to win the remaining games and reach the second round" he said.

Husnee of Hurriyyaa declared as the man of the match
