Goffa : I thank FAM and players for their confidence
06 September 2005

Male', MALDIVES - Hurriyya's coach Goffa Voladmir thanked Maldives FA and his players for their confidence and responsibilities. After beating New Radiant by 2-0 in today's game. Goffa thanked FAM for the financial support that was offered after the Tsunami, which helped to bring the team up; he also remarked that FAM has invested the money in the right players.

" The players did not pressurize themselves and took the game easily. I think that's why we won the game. " He said in the media conference. He also stated that the win was the players, management work, not only his work.

" The players had a pure concentration and they took their responsibilities" he added.

On the other hand New Radiant's coach Stoikov admited that he had a tactical failure in the defence today. Answering a question raised by Maldivesoccer, Stoikov said the defence was not up to the mark. " There were too many loop holes and the huriyyaa players played well. The defence did not mark the Huriyya players well" the dissappointed coach said. He also praised Hurriyyaa for their brilliant performance.

Is the best defence in the league really the best?

From the whistle of the referee Huraa dominated the entire game, not only the players, the supporters as well. They showed their combination and the love for the game in the match.

The first chance was created by Boikov by a free kick which was not much a threat and Areesh saved the ball and in the next mminute huraa also got another chance which was saved by sadhun.

It was like a war game between the keepers. In the sixteenth minute Riyaz's shot was just few yards away from the post which was driven very low.

In this half Boikov was shown a yellow card for verbal comments made to the referee which is a common scene in the matches.

Another golden opportunity this time by Abdullah Ibrahim from a corner was too far from the post. Huraa gradually started to increase the pressure to the defence line of New Radiant and as a result on the 20th minute, Onu gave a very nice through pass to shinaz, Shinaz's shot went straight to the far corner of the goal, giving no chance to dived Sadhun to stop the ball.

In the 37th minute, Onu yet again got a golden opportunity. He was all alone in New Radiant half and the shot he made was too wide from the goal.

He should have gone inside the penalty area, instead he took the shot just a little bit outside the area.  There was not much a big threat from New Radiant in the first half.

But in the 1st minute of the 2nd half, New Radiant got a golden opportunity. ' Ahmed Mohamed got the ball while huraa's keeper was trying to save it outside the penalty area. He lost it and the cross made by Ahmed Mohamed was met by Niyaz. But the shot made was too poor.

The Huraa's defence which was pure solid in the whole match did not show any lack of concentration and in the second minute yet again a ball which fell inside the penalty area was met by a New Radiant player. But the shot was not powerful enough and the keeper saved it again.

In 61st minute a ball which was crossed from the defence line of Huraa was not met by New Radiant's defence line which fell in to Onu. He drive strongly passing Boikov and shot to the right corner of the goal and increased the lead to 2-0.

In the 62nd minute Onu was yet again free and the shot was saved by Sadhun, And in the 70th minute he got a golden opportunity alone in the new radiant's penalty area, but the shot made was too far from the post. New Radiant changed their tactics and brought out 3 new fresh players at a same time. Jameel, Niyaz, Nasir was changed with 2 forwards and one defender. Boikov moved to the forward line but it couldn't help the team much. He was a little bit lazy I would say.
