Victory dismisses Sunain’s contract
08 October 2005

Male', MALDIVES - In an interview given to maldivesoccer, Sunain of Victory sports club revealed that the club dismissed his contract on 6th of October.

Sunain has stopped playing after the injury he conceded while in Victory’s practice early this year. His calf muscles were worn out. He has been recovering quite fast, which was not expected but got a blow for it when he tripled and fell from a stair case. The fall made the injury worse according to Sunain.

He has been playing for Victory’s forward line from last years National Tournament after a transfer from IFC. Sunain revealed to maldivesoccer that after the injury blow, victory sports club has refused to pay his salary from August and it was an upset to him because the management did not return his repeated phone calls. He feels that it was done by the management as he was injured and demanded the salary.

“It is not my fault that I got the injury. I got the injury while in practice. And the management should note the point that a player might get an injury as well.”

Sunain also revealed that in the letter sent on 6th October, it was mentioned in the letter that he was given advice two times. But he refuses these claims and said “I have never been given any advice from the management regarding my discipline”

When asked about the prospect of him seeing in the coming tournament he said that he expects to play for another club

“I will not play for Victory again. There is a very high chance of me playing for another club”

When contacted to one of the Victory’s officials, he refused to comment on the issue.

“I cannot give any information regarding the issue at this moment” he said.
