Result doesn't matter says Azim
16 October 2005

Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant's media cordinator Ali Azim confirmed to Maldivesoccer that his team is not serious about the upcoming crucial match against Valencia. If New Radiant wins the game they will win Dhivehi League for the first time where as just winning isn't enough for Valencia. Valencia need to win by a difference of six goals inorder to defend the league, which was dominated by them for the last four years.

"We have got everything that we wanted for this season. So we will not take the game seriously. If we win we win. If we loose we lose. We will not worry about it". Azim said.

When asked about Boikov Mr. Azim said that they haven't thought of bringing him back.

"If the management feels that we should bring him for the national tournament we will bring him. If not we will not bring him". He added.

On the other hand the opponent, Valencia, is doing whatever on their hand to defeat New Radiant. But the biggest concern is to score half a dozen of goals to one of best defences of Maldives.

"Winning is a different thing, but scoring 6 goals against one of the best defense lines of Maldives is very difficult" Valencia's Assistant Coach Abdullah Waheed said.

Answering to maldivesoccer about the hopes of winning the title he said he is hoping for the best

"Our hopes will remain at its best till the last second. I know it is difficult" He said.

When facing this year's AFC Cup's semi finalist, Valencia is weakened by another problem. Luthfee (Ludda) and Niyaz is suspended for two bookings, Assad and Ashraf (Sampath) is doubtful as both of them are injured. Waheed said that he is not sure about the two players

"They did not participate in the practice for the last 3 days. So I am not sure whether they will be playing in the match or not. We have to see tonight and tomorrow's practice to comment on it"

Valencia is the champion of Dhivehi League since 2001, Victory is the only team other than Valencia to lift this title. Victory won the first of this tournament in 2000.
