India and Bangladesh bags vital three points

Karachi, Pakistan - India and Bangladesh wins their first match of ongoing SAFF championship. In today's first game defending champion Bangladesh brushed aside minnow Bhutan by 3-0. Ariful Kabir hits the net twice in the 42nd and 58th minute of the game and Jahid Hassan scored in the 90th minute of the game to confirm them the vital three points.

In the second match, two time champion India beat Nepal by 2-1. Mehtab Hossain opened the scoring in the 6th minute of the game and added one more in the 27th minute before Basantha Tapa hits the net for Nepal in the 37th minute.

With these results, Bangladesh are on the top of Group B with 3 points and a goal difference of 3 while India lies in the second with 3 points and a goal difference of one.

In Group A, Maldives on the top with 3 points and 8 positive goals in their goal difference and host Pakistan with 3 points and one goal difference. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are in the third and fourth respectively.
