Karachi, PAKISTAN - Maldives national team coach Stoikov appreciated the support given by Maldivian fans in Karachi. In an interview given to maldivesoccer.com, Stoikov said that the support from Maldivian fans he saw in the stadium were absolutely amazing.

"I met the supporters. They were fantastic. They helped us to win by their support. We really thank them" Stoikov said.

In an earlier interview by ass. coach Ihsan (Saanthi) also highlighted the support of Maldivian fans.

As Maldives are dressing up to face the hosts on Sunday, Stokov shared his views about Pakistan.

The Pakistani media have said in the past few days, about the vulnerability of the Maldivian players physical ability and would be using at the maximum by using long balls and coach Stoikov said that the Maldivian team is prepared for it even.

"We are prepared for it too. We are making our strategy based on each angle the opposition would employ" said former New Radiant's coach.

He also noted the work of the players and said that his strategies and game plan had worked so far.

"My game plan has worked. I am hoping and confident that it would work in the next games. There are of course improvements but I cannot reveal it right now"

But he once again complained about the poor refereeing seen by Bangladesh referee in the Srilankan encounter.

"The refereeing was terrible. Such kind of refereeing spoils the good game of football. There were so many yellow card offenses and red card offenses in the game."

When asked about the opposition group he feels that India is the toughest one.

"India can be regarded as one of the toughest teams. Specially Baichun Bhutia, the captain of India is very skillful" He said.

Stoikov also mentioned that Maldives team is in a very healthy form and preparing at the maximum level.
