Country by country preparation for SAFF championship

Male' Maldives - The next edition of region's biggest soccer event is coming closer and the teams are making their final preparation for the tournament.

AFGHANISTAN : The German Government and their football federation is helping the Afghans to compete in the upcoming SAFF Championship. The Afghan team had a training camp in Germany in October. The coach, Klaus from Germany agrees that the players need a lot of improvement in their play and their health.


INDIA: Indian national football team coach Syed Nayeemuddin has called experienced striker and former Indian skipper Baichung Bhutia and midfielder Tomba Singh, for the training camp that is specially designed for the upcoming SAFF Games.

The camp is in progress in the Indian capital of New Delhi. The probable include four goalkeepers, eight defenders, nine midfielders and eight strikers.

PAKISTAN: Pakistan is currently in Bahrain to get more practice match experience. These matches are played in order to raise more funds for the earthquake hit people, but it would also gain more match experience to the players. They have incorporated Fulham's under 21 defender Zesh Rehman, who decided to play for Pakistan last year. His presence is said to be a noticeable and would bring a huge impact to the Pakistan football.

NEPAL: Nepal National team has started to gain momentum for up-coming SAFF Championship as they easily blanked out Tribhuvan Army Club by 5-0 recently in Kathmandu .

Hari Khadka, Ananta Thapa, Surendra Tamang, Pradeep Maharjan and Tashi Tsering scored apiece to rip off Army's vigor. The team led by Toshiko Shiozawa from Japan said he is confident about the team and they are getting perfect day by day.

SRILANKA: Sri Lanka's national soccer team comprising 20 players and four officials were scheduled to leave for a short tour of Thailand on November 5 to play three games and also attend a training stint in preparation for the SAFF Championship. The Srilanlankan CEO said that they are playing against the Thai National team, under 23 and leading clubs.

MALDIVES : Maldives left to Bangkok for their training sessions on 23 of November and they have won their first friendly against Thailand's Tobacco Monopoly on 25th and their next match will be played on today against BEC Tero sasana.
