MALDIVES - Football Association of Maldives gave a hint of introducing a women’s award in next year. In the news conference held yesterday, Gen. Secretary Ibrahim Ismail shared his views on introducing such an award.
'FIFA gives a very high priority for women's football. But it is just in a developing stage in Maldives. We also feel that we should appreciate the girls work.’ He said.
FAM is also having an idea of introducing an award for season’s best coach, Ibrahim Ismail talked about this as well.
'Coaches wise, it is all foreign coaches and we have very few Maldivian coaches. So there is not much competition between coaches. So we feel that this time we would omit it. Maybe for the next year, we might consider it’
