Suzeynu (L) played a major role in Victory's successes

Male', MALDIVES - Victory sports club has chosen Mauroof Ahmed (Maatey) and Ali Suzeynu as their head coach and coach respectively. Member of club’s board of directors, Naabe confirmed the appointment of last season’s duo and stated they are looking forward to get foreign players as well.

Under the coaching of Maatey and Suzeynu, Victory won last year’s president’s cup and they were runners up of Cup Winners Cup.

Both Maatey and Suzeynu started their football career from Victory more than a decade ago and last five years they were helping the club as their coaches. Suzeynu took the helm in 2004’s season when Maatey made a move to IFC, but spent a horrible season with them and came back to the old club again in last year’s season.

Suzeynu was also included as one the three assistant coaches appointed by FAM for the national team that appeared in last year’s SAFF championship.

Naabe later confirmed that former Victory and national team captain Mohamed Ibrahim (Kappi) has been appointed as clubs new manager and Ahmed Amil, a former Victory player, as Assistant Manager. And stated that the team will start their practices somewhere between 15 and 22 of this month.
