Male', MALDIVES - A Romanian coach is likely to take over the helm of New Radiant for the upcoming season says club chairman Ali Azim. New Radiant was linked with former Hurriyya coach Goffa, but Azim said they rejected him because he didn’t keep in touch and didn’t finalise the deal, but Goffa who kept regular contact with maldivesoccer.com stated before that he agreed the terms and conditions of New Radiant and he was willing to face new challenges as the coach of New Radiant.

“We gave the contract to Goffa to sign and he asked for some time and that made everything delay and we need to look for someone else” Azim said.

Azim also mentioned that he didn’t get any reply from Goffa, but Goffa said he didn’t get a reply from New Radiant after he left Maldives.

“I don’t know what’s happening, I didn’t get any reply from New Radiant, but I’ve even send messages to them saying that I am willing to accept the offer” Goffa said in an online interview given to maldivesoccer.com before.

Other than the coach, Azim confirmed that they have chosen two foreign talents other than Sri Lankan keeper Sadhun.

"We have finalised a Bulgarian defender named Valentine and a Romanian Midfielder who played for their under 21 national team who is right now aged 27 is soon to finalise”

New Radiant, who spent nearly 2.57 million rufiyaa last year is planning to spend 2.85 Million this year and their committee would be elected before they resume the practices on 15th of this month.

During the news conference organized by FAM today, Youth Minister handed over New Radiant a reward of RF 25,000 from Maldives President to celebrate their success in last year’s AFC Cup, where they entered the semi finals.
