MALDIVES - Valencia's coach, Eric Williams told maldivesoccer.com today that he agreed to come back to Valencia after the club agreed on the list of things he has asked for the club management to improve.
“I had a very lengthy meeting with the club management before I left. They agreed for the things I have requested on the list which I gave to them and i am happy to come back ”
One of the top priorities in the list was the involvement of the management with the players and to motivate them.
“It is not the sole responsibility of the coach to motivate the players. I feel the management should be more involved with the players and need to motivate them”
Eric also noted that the management should think very deeply on qualifying for the AFC Cup.
‘If we want to qualify for the AFC Cup, we need for the players to give more. They need to be more motivated. The management could offer incentives for the players”
Eric mentioned that during his time in Indonesia he had several looks on some African based players, but they were too expensive for the club.
‘I had a look at some of the African players and their agents. But they were over the budget of Valencia . So we have to wait until the end of the qualification round to bring some new foreign faces”
Eric, after his come back is feeling quite impressive with the work of the management and the players
‘I had a very good practice session yesterday. We got some new young players and everyone was very enthusiastic. I was very delighted of the practice yesterday”
