Male', MALDIVES - VB sports new coach Carlos Cavagnaro has signed a one year contract in VB Brother’s office today. The fee for Carlos Cavagnaro remains a big mystery but he said after the signing that he is not interested in the fees. Instead he said it has been a life time dream to come to the Maldives and it’s much better than the fees.
“I choose Maldives because it is a golden dream that I had. I don’t change my life for money. I am so lucky that I stayed in here”
Carlos also mentioned that it would be a challenge and he would be very glad to face the challenges. He also mentioned that he would try to win the heart and minds of the players.
“First I have to know the hearts and minds of the players and to win it. So then they could show it on the field. If they cannot show it, then it is no use”
He also said the best moments in his life are when he discovers a good player.
‘When I first saw Deigo Maradona, I said he would be one of the best players who would be in the same line as Pele”
He also said he would be hoping to discover new players in Maldives and he would help them to improve their ability.
‘I am confident that I would discover new players and I would be using my contacts to help those players play abroad. When small islanders at the moment could play in France, Rome and England”
He also mentioned that the club would need time to develop and it would be a step by step process.
“We have a big board behind me who would be helping me in all the areas I need. So hopefully we would succeed in all the levels”
Carlos mentioned that the club is a young club but it would be a big club that would pick good players.
‘We would pick up good players, We will produce good players and would give them opportunity to further improve”
He said he definitely have the experience that he would be sharing with the Maldivians.
‘I am the youngest coach in the history of Football. So definitely I have the experience and the contacts all over the world which could improve the football in here”

I think Carlos will be a huge asset to improve the Maldivian football considering the fact that he has worked in such a high level in football - jose

Hope Carlos Cavagnaro will discover new players in Maldives and he will help those players to play abroad.

wow... vb you are going to do very good things to maldives soccer. i guess now ... what a good team vb sports will be with a great coach like carlos who will create the good team, as well as he will be happy to have such a good squad , specially a good leader like aliumar, as well sampath and oppo. - saleem
