FAM starts hunt for a new coach

Male, MALDIVES - Football Association of Maldives has started their search for a replacement of recently resigned coach Stoikov. In an interview to maldivesoccer.com, Vice Chairman of the association said that they are currently checking the applications before they decide on the coach.
“We are receiving applications at the moment and we are checking it closely as well”
He also highlighted that the timing for the previous appointment was in a rush.
“We had very less time during the previous time. But this time it would not happen”
But Maldives Under 23 team would be playing in their Olympics Qualifiers in February and FAM has decided to appoint a new coach somewhere around the beginning of new year.
Addo also gave fair details of the coaches that have been consulted.
“We checked on Yankez – the Slovakian coach who was previously here. But he said he would not be available”
“A Finland coach also have applied and we are checking on him as well”
“We are also checking Portugal’s Gomez who is still under Football Association Contract. But at the moment we did not manage to contact him”
Addo also said that the application to the vacant is still open and they hope a new coach would be appointed soon.

In my openion, we have to get gomez, as he was the coach at th etime we played against korea and managed a draw. i think now we can do better than that as we have more telented players. - amjad

FAM shud b lookin for coaches who have not served in our country. As we knw Maldives has been unable to achieve gold in SAFF games with both stoikov and yankez. as for gomes he was gud but not gud enuff to lift maldives to the next level. in my opinion, i wud say FAM shud try to get a coach from Italy or Holland. I believe our maldivian players lacks mental and technical training. If our mental prowess was better we wud have acheived gold by now. (ps. great work guys on this site. (ERSS) ;) ) - Sonic

ey why u guys always run after our former coaches. find a good and new coach, no need to run after them. yes brought us succes but it is not must for us to bring them back. it seems that u guys don't get a coach. if so what is the use of FAM
my advise to u guys is to get a new coach - giggs
