MALDIVES - The 2006 season would kick off tonight and both teams are hungry for a win against their main rivals.
New Radiant have the best line up in the whole country. With a superb strikers and superb defense line, could they break inside the heart of Victory’s defense. We just have to wait and see it tonight.
The likes of Ashfaaq, Oppo and Ali Umar would be a danger for the opposition through out the match. They have the ability to change the game within few minutes. On the other hand, there defence is as strong as their striking force. With the Bulgarian International in the heart of the defense, Sobah, Malla and Naasir would have less work to concentrate on. But the question rises on the midfield. Could the Romanian control the midfield and provide more attacking power and plan the game?
Victory on the other hand, would come out with the same bunch of players who came out last year. So they would have their energetic and hungry win players out on the field. Keeper Imran would have lot of work to do, pushing their players up and maintaining the goal. It would be a lot of work.
Henriksen, Issey and Dhona would be the attacking force in the line up. They also would be a huge danger for the experienced and star defence line of New Radiant.
So we got two teams with strong line ups. Who would win, we would just leave it for you guys to decide.
Mauroof stated to maldivesoccer today, that they would play for a win today in the season opening match.
“We would go out on the pitch for a win. I am confident of a win. But it all depends on what happens on the pitch as well”
He also stated that every department in the opposition team is very strong and have to minimize the mistakes.
“They have very good players in all the departments. So we have to concentrate on all of them if we want a win”
Meanwhile New Radiant’s chairman is also fully confident they would also win. He told to maldivesoccer that there is no player in Victory squad that they are afraid of.
“We would play in our style. We would not concentrate on individual players. ‘
But he noted that they are not fully prepared for the match.
"The players are back from National team. We have to give them rest and some had minor injuries. So they are back but they got few practices under their belt”
