| Qualification almost over for Maldives

MALDIVES - Maldives has almost finished their qualification round for AFC Futsal Championship which will be held in Uzbekistan later this year. The two group Qualification round playing in Malaysia now is close to it's end and host Malaysia and Turkmenistan leading group A while Hong Kong and Korea Republic on top of group B, but Australia in good shape to win a top seat.
Maldives first experienced a 3-2 defeat against another minnow Cambodia and a huge defeat of 8-0 against mighty Turkmenistan and host Malaysia. Beating Maldives yesterday, Malaysia closed the gap to their rival Turkmenistan, who beat Cambodia 6-2 in yesterday's clash.
The matches are playing in Sukpa Indoor Stadium, Kuantan, Malaysia. Maldives will play their last game against Vietnam, who drew their first and lost second match and are unlikely to grab a position of first or second in the group to qualify for the tournament.
