FIFA ranking: Maldives behind major rivals

Male, MALDIVES - Maldives dropped enormously in the newly announced FIFA ranking of December 2006. Maldives who were on the top of SAARC region fell behind major rivals of the region.
Maldives are in fourth position, behind Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India. The new position Maldives managed to get is 158th, a 12 position behind their November ranking position. Maldives has the highest decrease in terms of position compared to the rest of the nations.
Bangladesh has an outstanding comeback with a 14 position upward compared to November to land in the 144th.
Sri Lanka too has a good increment compared to their previous one. They have a 9 position increment to win 145th position.
India fell behind 9 positions compared to November and secured 157th and followed by Maldives at 158th.
Pakistan moved up one postion compared to November and are in 164th Position.
Both Nepal and Bhutan has two position increment and are in 170th and 192nd position respectively.
