Eric Williams: A high profiled coach left disappointed of his squad

Male', MALDIVES - Valencia coach Eric Williams is all set to resign after the FA Cup. According to Eric, he has submitted the letter stating that he would resign and has met with the management regarding the matter.

Eric mentioned today that he has decided to resign because the commitments from the players were very low and he has finalised the decision after the Cup winner's cup clash against Hurriyya.

“I expect the players to show more commitment and more desire. But most of my players have not done it. It is very disappointing for a coach when the players don't show it”

Eric's coaching philosophy was regarded as the best in Maldives so far. But the training did not have much effect to the players practically in the match.

After the disappointing match against Hurriyya Eric mentioned that the players do the opposite of what he does in the practice grounds.

Eric was also disappointed about his squad which contains very young and inexperienced players.

“Two of the best strikers have left the squad and I have only a couple of experienced players and the rest are very young.”

He said that he had a very close relationship with the management and his resign decision would not diminish this relationship. He also promised that he would give his best to win the FA Cup before he leaves.

“I promised the management that I would give 100% for the FA Cup and I would do my best”

Eric said if everything goes like this, he would be leaving Maldives to Australia on 18th of next month.
