“We have started negotiations and it has been two weeks since then. We are having negotiations with Slovakian, English man and one from Romania.” - Ali Azim

Male', MALDIVES - It was a day with full of surprises. One of the best teams in the country lost to a second division team and their loyal fans called for the resignation of their coach. It is something not so new, but something to recognise and to add to that surprise, New Radiant has confirmed that they are searching for foreign nationals to fill the coaching seat and it would be decided in the coming few weeks.

Within 4 hours after the historic defeat, maldivesoccer.com had the chance to talk with New Radiant's chairman; Mr. Azim and here's his say regarding today's match.

“It should not have happened. It is very disappointing.”

Azim also confirmed that they are having negotiations with three foreign coaches.

“We have started negotiations and it has been two weeks since then. We are having negotiations with Slovakian, English man and one from Romania.”

It is believed that the Slovakian national is former Hurriyya coach, Vladamir Goffa, but according to confirmed reports, there have been no improvement in any kind of negotiations with Goffa and New Radiant.

But Azim confirmed that the coach would be decided in the coming few weeks.

New Radiant's coach, Niyaz said in the media conference held today, that he takes the full responsibility of today's loss.

“ It's not because we didn't have luck. It is because of the pressure. And I will take the responsibility of today's loss”

He also have agreed that there were not so much plans and strategies before they kicked off the game.

“We did not have any kind of strategy. How could we have! Lots of players were injured and we had to use the players we had. There were players that cannot play in this level, but we did not have any choice”

Maldivesoccer.com asked Niyaz during the news conference regarding the deteriorating performance of the senior players from the start of the season.

“We cannot agree to that. Some players might. But if we take Ali Umar. He has been exceptional. He is having the best season. But some other players like Ashfaaq is not at his best. But we should consider his injuries as well”

Meanwhile, New Radiant's chairman, Mr. Azim also confirmed that their decision to loan Dhagey would still be unchanged because of today's results.

“We decided to send him because we wanted to expose our talents abroad. It is not for the benefit of the club, it is for the benefit of the Nation. So we will still send him off”

After today's game, supporters of New Radiant were calling for resignation of Niyaz and threw bottles at him. The police had to intervene and later the team and the players locked themselves in the changing room and Mr. Azim who was on his jogging shoes came and took the players outside.

You must pay attention on kuda katheebu"s words, because he obviously knows what exactly is going on in New Radient, but is not so brave to say that some of the so-cold national stars of Maldives are selling the games. And if you look clously at the play of Ali Umar,Ashfaq,Tom,Janah and Sobah-all of them key players and some of the most relyable ones during the game, you will see what is realy happening in New Radiant...It is a shame for our whole nation. And this people we hope, they will representative us abroad. - maurino

i don't think so they will bring the coach in this season. aazim want to control the supporters therfore he said that . i ll see the next week.i think newradiant need a oach if there is no coach they have to suffer lot of unbelivable things in future.niya is not fit for newradiant coach .he is fit for assistant coach in newradiant. however he is fit for a coach in second divisions team like guraidhoo, eagales. m-j.

Last year new radiant was playing football and earning benifits and love of many fans.. i think the management has to take a solid action regarding the games they are playing now... the moral of all players seems to be lost... hire a  foreign coach now and try to develop the winning sprit in them... its seems like this year new radiant is trying to trade player and earn money than playing football to win the target they have express early this year.... dont try to change the true image of our beloved team.... if the current management and coach are unable to do so why not resign right now...there are people who can lead this team to top...chaos -Morenio

Hey all, just wanted to say, you cant blame the management and coach all the time. Belive me when i say it there is a big conspiracy going on here. You will all know what I am talking about IF newradient religates to the second division. WATCH THIS SPACE - kuda katheebu

i think that its not cuz of the coach that newradiant has been able to win their games this season , even if i am appointed as the coach , im sure newradiant wud win cuz theyve got good players and all , so i suggest a forieng coach shud be appoitned as it wud boost the players seriousness and attitude towards practice and all - xagey -

as a x player of new radient i feel shame my self. i urge niyaz to quit from coachin i no he doesnt have that quality to handle senior players cos i have experienced him when i was a player.
better niyaz to handlle youth teams. - ismail

Its good that Mr Niyaz agreed that it was his mistake. So rather than calling for resignation  i would call for the management to have a good Head Coach. Let Mr Niyaz be the assistant coach and gain something more. therefore after 2 or 3 years he can be a good coach. Regarding the Coach i prefer to get Mr Gofa ( X - Hura coach ) for newradient.- positive man

I am really dissapointed for yesterday result.People believe or not ,the fact is still we need good foriegn coaches to raise the standard of our football.
Locals coaches only talk, but when comes to work they just get mad.....
I think now clubs have known the reality and whats the quality of "BIG GUNS".
local coaches are so busy with political parties and have no time to prepare for their sessions and games.
Even FAM need to think about it and save our lovely game and our players. - Mustho
