Date: 31 December 2006 | Uploaded: 1:47 AM

Male, MALDIVES - It would be Uganda’s year for New Radiant as they have opted to choose all of their foreign players from Uganda. As informed by New Radiant officials, Idrees the prominent striker would be joined with two of his country men on 7th of January.

New Radiant’s chairman Azim said to maldivesoccer.com that they have opted to choose to concentrate more on defense as their main target is AFC Cup.

“We had two experiences so far. And I guess having a good defense line is the best option and we are trying to strengthen that area”

“We do have a good midfield as well, so hope to give a good fight in AFC Cup”

Regarding Idhrees’ match fitness New Radiant has some few concerns while they are quite happy with others.

“After his injury he has played for a club in Vietnam, but he would need to improve his match fitness. But he is young and he would gain match fitness fast enough”

Meanwhile, the foreign players would be in Male’ on 7th of January.  The defender, Dumba Michael who is 23 years old has last played for Deepali Juba Sangha in Bangladesh. He would join with the skillful Maldivian players.

New Radiant who had foreign goal keepers has once again moved in the same direction this time with, Megala James who is playing for Express Uganda at present.

New Radiant would be starting their practices on 10th of January.
