Management is better than me: Goffa

Frustrated Goffa walked out of the bench early in the game

Male', MALDIVES - Victory beat Hurriyya in tonight's game to enter the semi final of FA Cup, Victory created more chances and dominated the match where both the coaches know very well that a defeat means ‘good bye' to the tournament.

A strange and an unexpected incident happened in the 24 th minute where Hurriyya coach Goffa walked out of the bench and sat in the spectator's area. Maldivesoccer contacted him at the time and asked the reason.

“I am of no use for the club. My decisions are ruled out and there are four of them to coach. They are way much better than me. So why should I stay?”

Victory took the lead in the 39 th minute from a shot by Fareed. He was left all alone inside the penalty area and took his time before netting it to the top corner of the goal.

In the second half, Victory played at the same pace and scored from a very nice shot by Shiyam (Dhona) in the 54 th minute. Keeper ishaaq's fingers brushed the ball, but couldn't do much to save the ball.

Hassan Nadheem of Hurriyya, who was cautioned before took another when he was deliberately throwing the ball at Huck. Two yellow equals red and Nadheem took no part in the game.

Samau scored the only goal of Hurriyya in the 75 th minute of the game.

It was a pressure mounted game: Mauroof

After the match, Victory's coach Mauroof was delighted about the win.

“It was a pressure mounted game. We had cup winner's cup final coming up, this was our first FA Cup game and the quarter final and we had six players carrying yellow cards before the game. So we did not want any one of them to be booked. But we needed a win and the players did it”

Mauroof also explained that he was not so happy as they missed so many chances

‘We got so many chances to score, but we did not. But I am happy that we had a win.”

He was also unhappy with the performance of Henriksen, who had a marvelous tournament with Victory in last year's President's Cup.

‘He also knows that he cannot score goals and he is missing so many chances. His performance is not so good as last year and we are thinking about to use him at the most”

My presence is useless: Goffa

Meanwhile, Goffa who walked out of the bench explained his decision to move out from the bench.

“I have big respect for the club. But our bench can have only one coach! But I guess my presence is useless. The management says opposite things as I say. So I am no need for the management”
