Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant confirmed the last slot of FA Cup semi final, after beating second division club Guraidhoo in a very low performance match played tonight. Ace striker Ashfaag gave the blues the lead in the 37 th minute and Romanian midfielder Nita doubled the lead in the 75 th minute from a shot on the edge of penalty area.

Guraidhoo scored their goal from the spot during the stoppage time. Valentine was the culprit of the incident where he handles the ball inside the penalty area.

New Radiant will face rival Victory in the semi and that will their fourth face to face in this season. And surprisingly, they both played in the same stage of last year's FA Cup as well, where New Radiant beat them 3-0 on penalties.

I am happy, but fans might not: Niyaz

After the match, Niyaz said that he is very pleased with the result even though the fans might not be.

“The fans expect a win, where we play very well and score many goals. If these three factors are not fulfilled than they would not be happy.”

“But I am happy with the result as we had six players were booked and would face suspension if they were booked today. Luckily none of the them went on the cautioned list and I am happy with it.”

Niyaz said he is very unhappy because of the lack of motivation from the players.

“Our player's discipline was very bad. But Guraidhoo players were so disciplined even though they were behind in the score line”

I am happy with the result: Nizam

Nizam, Guraidhoo coach said that he is very happy with the result as well.

“Playing against a team with 2 foreign players and 4-5 national team players is very tough. And to get one goal behind in the first half let the players down.”

“It would happen as we have very inexperienced players. There are only 3 players who have played in the first division”
