Male', MALDIVES - Valencia climbs up to the top position of Dhivehi League Zone 9 Qualification Table after they beat Eagles in tonight’s match. The game was fairly even until Andy scored in the beginning of the second half.

It was Eagles who got the best chance in the first half to take the lead, but the shot went off target.

In the second half as well, Eagles got some open chances but they were unable to score. The second goal for Valencia was scored by Raushan, who came as a substitute, from a lovely header.

The man of the match was awarded to Akram of Valencia

In the post news match conference, Eric Williams, coach of Valencia said that he was disappointed about his players’ performance.

“I thought the game was quite even in the first half. They (Eagles players) defended quite well and didn’t give us enough space.”

“I asked my players to give four passes before they go at the goal, but they were unable to give 3 passes even. It was quite disappointing”

“It was really difficult to motivate them. Maybe it’s a tradition in here, when we play with lower teams to make it ease”

He also noted that they wanted to score more goals so that their goal difference would be much better but the players were unable to do it.

Meanwhile, Eagles Assistant coach Nimad said that the players were in a lot of pressure and they were absorbing it during the game.

“I asked them not to worry about the result and to play a good game. They played a good game for a few minutes but could not keep it up”

Nimad also highlighted that the players felt more pressure after they missed out the chances.

“We got some good chances in the first half, but were unable to convert it. And after Valencia got their first goal even, we got some good chances. But they missed out that too. The strikers were too careless I guess”
