Hurriyya in deep trouble

Male', MALDIVES -Hurriyya continues their struggle to come out from the relegation zone after they got another defeat, this time against IFC in today's Dhivehi League Zone 9 Qualification match. Even though Hurriyya dominated the possession they were unable to create any open space to shoot.

It was Eugene who was substituted in the second half who managed enter in the score card. He passed the offside trap of Hurriyya and dribbled past the goal keeper and shot to the far end of the goal.

Hurriyya tried their level best to come back, but they were unable to score any goal. There was an instance when Naushad's shot got deflected on the far post and Hurriyya players claimed for a goal, but referee Ameez didn't show it.

The man of the match was awarded to Amil of IFC.

This was Abdul Salaam Meeza's first game under his coaching for Huraa. He was coaching Eagles earlier in the tournament and left the club after a dispute with the management.

In the post news match conference, Takov, coach of IFC said that he was pleased of the three points but agreed that it was a difficult game.

“It was a very tough game for both the teams. We also got some few chances especially in the first half. But we couldn't score”

“In the second half, we couldn't play good football. They got some chances but wasted as they were in a lot of pressure”

Meanwhile, Rafeeu, Assistant coach of Huraa said that Hurriyya players could not follow the game plan

“The players could not play their game very well. I was absent in the past training as I was sick and I wasn't able to participate in the practice. So I don't know much about the plan”

“We were unlucky as well. But this would bring more pressure for us. Now we don't have our own power to qualify”
