Male', MALDIVES -
Victory completely stormed out the defence line of Eagles by scoring 5 goals in today's Dhivehi League Zone 9 Qualification match. Even though Victory bagged the 3 points by a huge margin; they only managed to strike a single goal in the first half. However, Eagles couldn't build up any open chance to score the goal during the whole match.

The first goal from Victory came from a lovely shot by Fareedh from a through pass by Dhona. This was the first attempt on goal by Victory players.

In the second half, Victory's new signing for the Dhivehi League qualification, Gbeneme Friday scored two goals to take them to beyond Eagles reach.

Shafaz also scored from a lovely build up by Victory players shooting to the top of the corner leaving no chance for Keeper. In the dying minutes, the newly joined Onu Kenneth scored to end the score sheet with 5-0. This is the debut game of Onu for Victory after speculation to sign him to Hurriyya.

The man of the match was awarded to Fareedh Mohamed, the first goal scorer of the match.

In the post news match conference, Mauroof Ahmed, coach of Victory said that he is delighted with the score line

“We wanted this 3 points very badly as we wanted to be in the qualifying zone of the league. This would lift up the pressure from the players”

“I think we played very well, especially in the second half, but we could not create good chances in the first half eventhough we dominated the possession.”

Regarding Onu's performance Mauroof was pleased of his performance considering his time in the practice

“He has stopped practicing in India for 3 weeks and he came here and just managed to practice only 3 or 4 days. So considering his time I guess he played well. But he would be a very good player and we needed a play maker like him in our midfield”

Mauroof today gave chance to some new faces to get fit for the Dhivehi League

“I have to give chance to the young players and give them experience as well. Players like Anil and Ammatey who were left out in the bench understands that. This would also increase the motivation of the players”

Meanwhile, Eagles Assistant coach, Nimad said he is very disappointed about the performance of his players.

“Our players couldn't give two passes properly. It was a very disappointing game.”

“We understand that Victory defeated us last year with the same score line and it is not new for us to get beaten by such a score line. But we could have done better”

In today's match as well, Eagles high profiled Abdul Salaam Meeza was not in the bench and when asked about him, Nimad replied ‘We have decided to send the coach after this month because of some dispute with the club and the coach”
