MALDIVES - Victory sports club thrashed the second division
club, Maziya in today’s Dhivehi League Zone 9 Qualification.
By scoring three goals in each half, Victory did not give a chance
for the Maziya players to breath.
Friday, the
new signing for Victory this season scored an early goal and commanded
Victory to a comfortable position. But to the despair of Victory
sports club, Adam Lareef scored a marvellous goal to equalise in
the 35th minute. He has been on a loan transfer to Maziya from Victory
for Dhivehi League Zone 9 Qualification.
But Friday made
sure that Maziya’s hopes were crushed by scoring two goals
in quick succession.
In the second
half, Victory scored three more goals to make it 6-0 by Shiyam,
Anil and Friday.
The man of the
match was awarded to Friday who scored the four goals.
In the post
news match conference, Maziya’s coach Ismail Mahfooz said
that their team’s huge loss was due to the lack of discipline.
“There was no discipline and they couldn’t take the
responsibily at the fullest. But we will try to correct all these
mistakes for the upcoming games.”
Imma also refused
claims about Keeper Sadhun’s performance.
‘We cannot say that he performed below par. He did make around
4 marvellous saves. So we cannot blame him. He did his duty.”
Meanwhile, Mattey was ecstatic about his players’ performance.
“Before we kicked off the game, we were not in the qualifying
zone. So I advised about the importance of the three points.”
“We were
not looking for a lot of goals, but to use the chances we get”
Mattey also
noted that he would give his young players a chance to play in the
upcoming games.
‘We are qualified for the league now. So we would try to give
our young players a chance to play.”
Mauroof highlighted
about the injury to Ashfaan who was playing a key role.
”He has got a very serious injury. He is such a good player”
