Victory's Issey (R) escaping a tackle from a Vyansa player today

Male', MALDIVES - Victory managed to enter the final of ongoing Cup Winner's cup after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Vyansa today. Victory showed a very low performance where as Vyansa as usual managed to show an outstanding football and kept on pressurizing the defence of Victory.

The first goal was scored by Henriksen in the 9 th minute. His fast pace shot did not leave a single chance for Vyansa Keeper Ismail Rasheed and minutes later, Nazwar all alone passed through two defenders and scored a brilliant goal. The shot went between the legs of Keeper Imran, but who cares?

Victory got a couple of chances to take the lead again, but they could not in the first half. In the second half, neither team could show an outstanding performance. But Vyansa tried to control the ball and create chances through out the second half. Victory did not get a good chance to score in the second half. A golden opportunity for Vyansa to shock the red team was wasted when the shot was saved marvelously by Imran.

Vyansa played an outstanding football: Suzeyn

After the match, Victory's Assistant coach Suzeyn wasn't pleased about the performance from the players.

“The work rate of Vyansa players were very high. They played outstanding football today and our players were very relaxed”

He also said that the players did not underestimate Vyansa players.

“As we lost the chances in the first few minutes in the first half, confidence of our players decreased. They had good combination and confidence”

The substitutes did not have much effect in Victory's approach.

“They were under 23 players and they were not so effective.”

Happy with the result: Naseem

Meanwhile, Vyansa's manager, Mohamed Naseem said that he was very happy with the result.

‘I am very happy with the result as we managed to draw against a very big team with a huge difference compared to us”

“We missed a lot of chances and they did as well. But we played very good football and I am very happy with the result”
