Fazeel (blue) scored the three goals for New Radiant

Male', MALDIVES - In a very high tempered match, New Radiant won against the arch rivals, Victory Sports Club. Victory has not been defeated until yesterday's match and last year's best footballer Ibrahim Fazeel's three marvelous goals brought an end to Victory's remarkable run.

In the 10 th minute of the game, spectators witnessed one of the best goals seen so far in this season. A timely through pass from Nita was perfectly finished into the net by Fazeel to give New Radiant and early lead.

Victory leveled 20 minutes later from a superb free kick taken by Issey and brought Victory well into the game. Keeper Aslam's effort in saving the ball was blown away from his mistimed punch.

Later in the second half, the match turned in to a more physical game and none of the coaches from the sidelines was advising the players to calm down and as a result yellow cards were coming out in every minute. Referee Ahmed Ameez was having a terrible time on the field. Last year's number one referee had to blow his whistle so frequently that the whistle sound was heard till the final one.

Unstoppable Fazeel's run went into like that till the end of the game and he again scored from Nita's cross in the stoppage time and celebrated season's first hat trick. What a superb start to defend his “best player” dignity.

Two players of Victory, Sujah and Assad who came as substitutes were sent off for fouls committed without the ball. The supporters of New Radiant toppled the advertisement boards and the Security and New Radiant officials had to intervene.

After the match, there was again a clash between the players of both teams. The management officials of both teams had to work hard to calm down the players.

Maldivesoccer match analyst Ahmed Marzooq, who is a former Valencia player and currently doing his undergraduate degree in Football in Unite Kingdom, highlighted that both coaches have done nothing to control the players.

"‘The two red cards were shown to youth players and the coach did not give a single advice to calm them down"

“It would be a big failure for the future if the coaches do not calm down the players. They have been sent off because of fouls committed without the ball. The management should give penalties for the red cards'

Mauroof congratulated New Radiant

Mauroof on the other hand, congratulated New Radiant for the win and said that he is very happy with the game.

“The game went according to the laws of the game and I am quite happy with the result”

"I did not loose anything from the game. I just lost two youth players. That's just it.”

Mauroof complained regarding the decisions taken by the referee.

“The referee's judgement was half hearted. I don't know what to tell about his decisions. He have taken some correct decisions and some very poor. He is the best referee last year and I don't have anything to say”

We gave a good answer to those who criticized our standard: Niyaz

Meanwhile, Niyaz, the assistant coach of New Radiant, said that he is very happy with the result.

“The media and the supporters complained after each match that we played very poor football. I guess today we have given an answer for everyone”

He was also happy with the performance of Aslam.

“Now everyone should know that it would not only be Imran. There is alos a person called Aslam as a goal keeper”

Niyaz also explained that the final is too distant and the management does not give priority to it at the moment.

“The management now is focused on AFC Cup match and FA Cup knock out match. The final is too distant to think about”
