New Radiant manages a win

New Radiant finally managed to get 3 points under their belt by just edging out IFC in today's Dhivehi League Zone 9 qualification match. This win gives New Radiant a little bit of comfort in their quest to qualify for the league. Although IFC has already qualified for the Dhivehi League the players played out with good spirit to win the game and they showed with a superb performance although they lost.

Where as New Radiant still could not perform at their best in today's Dhivehi League. With just two shots on target, one which Keeper Zariyandh managed to put his hand on while the other hit the goal net. Oppo shot it from a superb volley in to the goal net.

IFC brought on two changes after the goal, but none of the changes could perform at their best. Although Mukthaar was supplying crosses in to the penalty area from the wing none of the IFC strikers managed to grab a shot on target

The match ended with 1-0, leaving a smile on the New Radiant supporters who had a bitter experience in the past 3 games.

In the post match news conference, Niyaz, coach of New Radiant said the three points were vital to qualify for the league and he is satisfied as they got it.

“It was very important for us. And the players played with good spirit and had a superb performance. I am very happy with that”

Niyaz also was delighted as his injured players are returning back from the injuries

“It was our first game in the tournament with 8 players on the bench. So I hope those players would return to their form and show a good performance”

Today's win would bring a smile on New Radiant's supporters and Niyaz also believed that they are almost qualified after today's league

‘We are around 90% qualified and it is just not written on paper that we are qualified. We are confident that we would be qualified”

Meanwhile, IFC's coach Takov also agreed that it was a tough game and both teams showed good skill in today's match

“This is one of the best matches in the tournament. It is real football played in here today. Everybody wanted a win including my players and I am very happy about their performance”

“This is soccer and we might loose after playing good football. Now we have to concentrate on the future. We are already qualified so we would concentrate on the Dhivehi League”

Takov defended the substitutions he made during the match and said that he wanted to give everyone a chance to play

“Important thing was to give everyone a chance to play. I want to prepare the players for the league and to maintain them at a certain level”
