Maldives 1-1 Pakistan: Last minute horror

Male’, MALDIVES – Pakistan scored a very late goal to avoid defeat against Maldives in the international friendly match played at a packed National Stadium tonight. Asadhulla Abdulla scored Maldives in the 48th minute but the last kick of the game came to the visitor's rescue.

In the 6th minute Pakistan missed a good chance to break the deadlock but Hassan Bashir’s shot went wide.

In the 28nd minute Asadhulla Abdulla made a good shot on target but was denied by the cross bar and he made another shot from the rebounded ball but it went wide.

In the 40th minute Asadhulla missed another chance to score. His shot was well saved by the keeper.

Asadhulla broke the deadlock in the 47th minute. Ali Ashfaq penetrated the defense line and supplied a good ball to him and keeper failed to save the header from Asadhulla.

Nine minutes later Ashfaq gave another good ball to Asadhulla but Pakistani keeper saved the shot.

In the 79th minute Pakistan's Hameed penetrated the defense line of Maldives and supplied a good ball but Basheed couldn’t control the ball.

In the 90th minute Adham beat his marker and made a shot but keeper cleared it and from the rebounded ball Ashfaq scored but referee ruled it for an off side.

Pakistan leveled in the final minute of the additional time. Yaqoob Ejaz Butt scored the goal from a corner kick.

The second friendly game between the sides will be played onThursday night at 2100 hrs at National Stadium.
