Male’, MALDIVES – Anti Corruption Commission of the Maldives has given the green signal to Football Association (ACC) of Maldives saying that they couldn’t find any wrong doings from the public funds that the Ministry of Youth and Sports gave to FAM.
Anti Corruption Commission started the investigation based on a report saying that the members of the normalization committee formed by FIFA are bribing the member clubs for the upcoming FAM election.
With this issue Ministry of Youth and Sports sent a letter to FAM asking to postpone the election and within few hours the Asian Football Confederation has warned Football Association of Maldives of a possible FIFA suspension if the government of Maldives interfere the administration of FAM. But FAM stood firm on their decision to have the election on Thursday.
Anti Corruption Commission also highlighted in their report that the increase in the number of voters from 13 to 44 in the newly revised statues of FAM is a good change to minimize the wrong doings in the elections.
