Afghanistan 3-1 Turkmenistan

Hithadhoo, MALDIVES - Afghanistan put Turkmenistan in trouble after defeating them 3 -1 in the AFC Challenge Cup 2014, Grop-B match played tonight. Afghanistan took the lead in the dying minutes of the first half and they added another 2 goals replied by 1 in the second half.

Turkmenistan was reduced to 9 man in the later part of the game as their two players were sent off with red card.

In the 16th minute of the game Afghanistan created a good goal scoring chance. Haaroon made a header on target from a corner kick but goalkeeper saves the ball.

Sixteen minutes later Durdiyev penetrated Afghanistan defense line and fried a powerful shot from just outside the penalty area, but the ball went direct in to keeper's hand.

Four minutes remaining in the first half, Muhadov tried his luck with shot from edge of the penalty area which went far over the crossbar.

In the added minutes of the first half Afghanistan skipper Haroon brought his team to lead with a powerful header which found the back of the net from a corner kick.

Fifteen minutes in to the second half Hatifi doubled the lead for Afghanistan. Shayesteh delivered a decent pass to Hatifi who did made no mistake to turn it a goal.

Five minutes later Muhadov cut the deficit for Turkmenistan, Muhadov's shot with a assist from left flank hit the top roof of the goal giving no chance to keeper.

In the 74th minute of the game Turkmenistan went one man down as their goalkeeper Gorbunov Nikiti was sent off with a red card for touching the ball outside the penalty area, when Afghanistan created a chance in counter-attack. Unfortunately Turkmenistan had already used their three substitutions before the red card and they were forced to put a player from field to goalkeeping.

Five minutes remaining to full time Turkmenistan was in trouble again as Annaorazov saw a direct red card for his foul on Ahamdi.

Three minutes later Shayesteh sealed the 3 -1 win for Afghanistan which put them to the top of the Group-B with 4 points, just goal difference to the second place Philippines. Turkmenistan who won their first game against Laos is in third place with 3 points while Laos is in bottom of the table with no points in hand.

In the next game of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014, Maldives will play against Palestine in National Football Stadium while Kyrgyzstan will confront Myanmar tomorrow night at 21:00 in Addu Football Stadium.
