Afghanistan confirms semi

Trivandrum, INDIA – Afghanistan advanced to the semi final of the SAFF Suzuki Cup after beating Bhutan by 3-0 today in group B along with Afghanistan Maldives also confirmed a semi final spot.

Khaibar Amani broke the deadlock in the 14th minute from a header inside the box.

Afghanistan doubled their lead from Masih Saighani’s header after Taher’s free kick from the left flank.

Afghanistan dominated the game throughout the game and created good goal scoring opportunities.

Khaibar Amani changed the score to 3-1 from another descent header from Norollah Amiri’s corner. It was Amani’s third goal of the tournament to lead the top scorer of SAFF Suzuki Cup 2015.

Afghanistan will play their last game of the grout stage against Maldives on Monday at 1800 hours.
