Ali Fasir celebrating a goal against Sun Hei FC this year. He was released by New Radiant to join Sur Club.

Male’, MALDIVES – A reliable source has confirmed to maldivesoccer.com that Ali Fasir and Akram Abdul Ghani will not join Oman’s Sur Club due to the financial situation in the Oman club.

According to the source, the club hasn’t paid for the players for three months and even they didn’t pay for the coach, Velizar Popov.

The players and some officials are protesting due to the unpaid salaries in Oman and some reports say that they have sacked their coach Velizar Popov.

Popov has helped Sur Club to move to the third position but now they are in sixth position of the table.

Recently New Radiant has agreed to release Akram Abdul Ghani and Ali Fasir to Sur Club and they are ready to leave Oman in January.

Maldivesoccer.com contacted Ali Fasir and he said he didn’t know anything about it while Akram Abdul Ghani didn’t answer the phone.

Better not go to a club in crisis. Hopefully they will get more offers in the future, but staying at New Radiant is also a pretty good option for the time being, considering they are playing in the AFC Cup again.
