Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant’s head coachAmir Alagic has resigned from his post due to family issues according to New Radaint Sports Club.

“We are sad to end our tie with coach Amir Alagic due to family reasons. We wish coach Alagic all the best and thank him for the work he did in such a short period of time.” New Radaint posted on their Facebook page last night.

Bosninan born Aagic has criticized the players of the club in the pre-match press conference of MILO Charity Shield.

“The players are misbehaving and not sleeping well, not eating well. Smoking this and that. These players are not committed to be professional players. Some of the futsal players are much more committed than my players."

“These are the things that I have talked with the management if they want to get a good result. Many things are basically not going on my way and this is what I want to say.” Alagic said in the press conference.

He led Brunei's DPMM FC to their cup champions before taking the head coach role of Brunei's national team. He also managed Bosnia U19 national team before gaining more coaching experience in Germany with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in 2007.

New Radiant has appointed a new coach to replace former coach Mika, who was sacked last month after a series of poor results that has extended to four official games without a win. Alagic was the fifth coach who has guided New Radiant in the last two years.

Assistant coach Sobah Mohamed will guide New Radiant in this week’s AFC Cup match against Yangon of Myanmar. New Radiant has left to Myanmar last night.

A crying shame coach had to go even before the season had started. His reasons may be family issues but we all know the real reasons. He found a band of players not willing to be professionals. Smokers, late sleepers, later comers not ready to conform to the minimum required etiquettes of a footballer. It was not what he had expected. What a shame!

"Family reasons"? I don't think anyone believed it for a second. Alagic was sacked because he tried to change the rotting structure of the club. It's sad to think that just two years ago New Radiant were setting local football alight with their well-organized structure, youth setup and corporation with their fans. Somewhere along the line, everything has gone stale. I believe that things started to go wrong when they thought they could buy the AFC Cup. They started signing players they did not need, like Ismail Easa, who was one of the best players in the country at the time but suffered a horrible loss in form like many of the young players at the club. Then they got rid of three of their most loyal and talented foreign players Kingsley, Mansa and Nuriddin and brought in old, slow players who were even less talented than the locals. Now they keep bringing coach after coach, almost in hope that one of them would have a magical formula to turn them around. But unfortunately there's no room for miracles to happen at the club. Alagic was likely sacked due to differences with the management and they will now struggle to appoint any talented overseas coaches. Their first team consists mostly of old individuals who are now at the twilight of their careers. Even when they do have talented youngsters, they are kept on the bench in favour of the more popular oldies. New Radiant needs a complete restructuring from top to bottom now. Rumours are afloat regarding alleged outstanding payments to hotels and coaches are piling up as well.

As a harcore fan of Maldivian football, I think all Dhivehin need a statement from NRSC's top management, together with a plan for re-organisation, player and coach management. I also believe the club needs to redefine the responsbilities and job descriptions of any future coach and player discipline. Don't give up now - accept that something's going horribly wrong and that it s threatening to undo all the hardwork done so far. Regroup with a convincing strategy for the the long-term future. We look forward to the statement - not a political spin, but a wholehearted one that is credible.

When Dhagey wa banging in goals and others around him took advantage of Dhagey NRSC Management was top class according to most people. Once Dhagey left NRSC started looooosong. So in short NRSC has no management policy rather it was a one man show of Dhagey.
