Male’, MALDIVES – Maziya Sports and Recreation drew their second consecutive match in the Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League after a 1-1 draw against Mahibadhoo tonight.

Maziya started the game without their key player, Pablo who was suspended for this game with two yellow cards.

Mahibadhoo’s Brazilian born striker Da Silva took the lead in the second minute of the game after a silly defensive mistake from Maziya players.

Eight minutes later, Maziya’s Ahmed Imaz made a good header on target but went over the bar.

In the 25th minute, Amdaan sent another good header inside the box from a corner kick from Umair but it went over the bar.

Seven minutes after the break, Asadhulla Abdulla missed a golden opportunity to level the game as he fired the shot over the bar inside the box.

Ten minutes later, in the 62nd minute Ahmed Nashid level the game from a good assist from Umair inside the box.

Maziya lies in the third position of the table with nine points from five games while league leaders New Radiant managed to get 10 points from four games.

New Radiant will play against Club Valencia tomorrow night at 2200 hours.

Big blow whichever you look at it to be held to a draw against the whipping boys of DPL. MAHIBADHOO was supposed to be easy pickings for any of the remaining seven teams, a comfirmed three points. What happened to Suzain's tactical acumen and 'inspiring' prematch talk. Has he lost his midas touch in his second season with the team? He will no doubt come with story to justify their current pridicament! As he always does!

Regardless of what Suzain said, Maziya has missed Pablo but with a fitter Asadhullah and Pablo's return I predict maziya will be back stronger in the next round!

The team is going down day by day and the main reason is Suzain!
