Ashfaq: best import player

Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives national team captain Ali Ashfaq has been selected as the best import player in the Malaysian football season this year.

Speaking exclusively to maldivesoccer.com Ashfaq said that he is really happy with this award.

“I am really excited with this award and for sure it’s not just an award for me but this award is for all Maldivians.”

“This is just a beginning and I will work hard to get more success in the future.”

Pahang’s Mathias Conti and Felda United’s Edward Wilson Junior were the other nominees for the prestigious award given by Malaysian FA. The best import player is selected based on not only Malaysian Premier League but including the Super League of Malaysia.

Ashfaq has scored 22 goals for PDRM FA this season and played a vital role in promoting PDRM FA to the Malaysia’s Super League, their top level tournament.
