Male’, MALDIVES – PDRM FA’s head coach Azman said that his main target is to win the POMIS Cup and his key player Ali Ashfaq can do something to help the team to win the tournament.

“I have the desire to win the tournament and our key player Ashfaq can do something to help the team to win it.”

“As this is our pre-season period I will use almost all the players in this tournament including the foreign players.”

Azman also said that he got some information about the other teams competing in this tournament.

“I know some information about the other teams and I hope it would be a good tournament for us.”

Azman also added that it will be his first visit to the Maldives and would be an exciting visit for him.

Ashfaq played a vital role in promoting the PDRM FA to Malaysian Super League as the champion of the Premier League. He has scored 22 goals for PDRM FA during the season 2014 and won the best foreign player award.

Wonderful player, may he can help win the cup for you. But for us though, the last time he was here for AFC Challenge Cup, he brought so unnecessary drama on the pitch. He might have thought it befitting his persona to salute in front of VIPs after scoring a goal as a bday gift for one of the VIPs but thats not for us. Not really when you host an international tournament for the first time. Players focus on the game was drawn away to his antics, caught in the emotional upheavel by seeing former presidents, who once did not see eye to eye sitting side by side, media was pandering to the circus taking shape. A certain selfie became the headline news as the real football played on the pitch became a sideshow. Too many of these distraction subsequently derailed our champgain before it really started.
