BG grabs first win

Male’, MALDIVES – BG Sports managed to win their first game in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League after a hard fought match against Mahibadhoo by 3-2.

In the 3rd minute BG keeper Ibrahim Rasheed was forced to made a good save from a shot made by Midhuhath.

Five minutes later, Ajuwad broke the deadlock from a wonderful shot inside the box. His shot hits the post and went into the goal.

In the 17th minute, Atapa penetrated the defense line and made a good shot inside the box but it went straight to the gloves of the keeper.

In the 31st minute referee gave a water break in this match. This is the first time that the referee gave a water break in a domestic game.

Four minutes later, referee Sifan sent off Tahi for hitting Samah out of play.

Mahibadhoo’s Ismail Nazeer leveled the game just after a minute after break from a wonderful shot inside the box.

In the 64th minute, Ibrahim Rasheed made a stunning save to stop the shot made by Samooh inside the box.

Midhuhath took the lead for the first time for Mahibadhoo in the 64th minute from a wonderful shot made just out side the box.

Two minutes later substitute player Ali Haisham scored and level the game. Azzam made a good shot on target but keeper punched it and Haisham scored from it.

Nine minutes before the normal time Hamdhan took the lead for BG Sports from a wonderful bicycle kick inside the box.

With this win BG Sports lies on the 7th position of the league with 5 points from 8 games.

Mahibadhoo coach Mohamed Shiyaz said that he was disappointed for losing important three points.

“I am not happy with the result. It is a very important three points to be in the top six of the league.”

He also showed his frustration to the match referee.

“I am not happy with his decisions. He showed a straight red card to our foreign player but in the previous incidents referee just warned the player or just showed a yellow card. This is not fair.”

On the other hand BG Sports coach Iqbal said he is happy with the win and it is an important three point for them.

Can someone tell me more about Mahibadhoo's Midhuhath? He has been very impressive so far. He is left-footed, intelligent and shows good technique every time I watch him play.
