BG knocks out AYL

Male’, MALDIVES – BG Sports has advance to the semi final of President’s Cup after beating All Youth Linkage by 3-2 last night.

Mohamed Shaffaz scored twice and Ibrahim Fazeel scored another goal for them. While Ajuwad and Muaz scored the two goals for AYL.

Ajuwad broke the deadlock in the first minute of the game from a wonderful shot just outside the box.

In the 25th minute, Solah supplied a good ball into the box but Kudus cleared it and from the rebounded ball Abu made a good shot but was blocked.

Two minutes later, Shaffaz leveled the game for BG from good shot inside the box. Keeper Athif and Zubair were down on the pitch when they were clashed while trying to clear the cross from the right flank.

Ibrahim Fazeel scored a fantastic goal in the 57th minute to take the lead for them.

In the 66th minute, Muaz leveled the game for AYL. Abu delivered the ball to him when he was unmarked inside the box, he beats the keeper and sent the ball to goal.

Three minutes later Shaffaz scored another superb goal inside the box to change the score to 3-2.

BG will play against Maziya in the semi final on 13th October and the winner will face New Radiant in the final on 23rd October.
