In the initial few matches when Eagles came good and others somewhat struggled giving Eagles the false hope of top position in the league coach Saanthi thought the world was at his feet. He started boasting of his teams growing strength and took pot-shots at big teams like Maziya and New Radiant. He was sarcastic in his remarks that big teams would be afraid of his teams as if it was all because of his tactical masterplan. The message was not lost on anyone. Now look at his team couple of matches later, since then they have not won a single match. Only draws. They have lost the top position. The boasting stance he took in post-match interviews has finally come to haunt him. So Saanthi be judicial even if you want ridicule others when you are at the top, don’t go overboard, and be careful the words you say because the same words may come to haunt you again. As you presently are.

What is it about these Dhivehi coaches that turns them into arrogant fools whenever their teams manage to string together a few wins? Maattey, Suzain, Saanthi, the list goes on. If I were in their shoes, I would wait at least until the end of the season to gloat. You know, first win the league before proclaiming to be the best in the country. As it is, Saanthi makes it into the long, not-so-prestigious list of coaches who were left with egg on their faces. Former Maziya coach Ismail Mahefooz was called "boring" in a few comments here because he never tried to stir up controversy or make outrageous statements during press conferences. Boring for some people maybe, but for me he just happens to be smarter than everyone else.
