In an exclusive interview given to Maldivesoccer.com today Bakaa said the offer was very good and it will help him to improve his level.

I always believed that Bakaa had the potential to play abroad and good that he has finally joined a foreign team. Both Dhagey and Bakaa could have gone abroad much earlier in their career and I urge other players to take their chances while they are young. With the PoMIS cup to be held soon, it will be a good opportunity to display the skills we have in front of the foreign clubs and coaches. I thought umair will make the cut but he has unfortunately faded slightly last season. As for the youngsters I believe both Numan(helmet) and amdhan could become great central defenders and is of export quality. Sentey should try his luck too. Riley also had his ups and downs and with some more effort and disciplined work I also believe that easa (messi) could really work his magic. Needs bit more discipline and hard work from all of them And to try and be professional as much as possible. It will also be a great motivation for us fans and potential player if a local tv channel could live the games played by these players who are playing abroad. Hope it will happen soon. Wishing And prAying to see more footballers from this nation play in better leagues abroad.

happy for Bakaa. he is one player whose work rate is second to none, magnificent in air, an excellent ballwinner. A very useful defensive midfielder.Too bad  he will  still become the second  player playing abroad dispite having seen half a dozen higly gifted promising players  over the decade, only that they would not put in that extra bit of effort to catch the eye of a foriegn club. May be they did not like the idea of coming out of thier comfort zone and live in another country for the sake of their football career. May be they found more fun and happiness at a local club. At which other footballing nation you can stop at one of the many roadside vendors after practice for some rehydration followed by smoke or at night ride on a cycle into the wee hour of the morning? They didnt like the idea of sacrifice to exal at particular thing, they were too content with what capital city had to offer, friends, coffee and the extra caricullar activities that come with it.
