Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant Sports Club returned to the top of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League after a 4-0 win against Mahibadhoo Sports Club tonight. Ibrahim Fazeel opened the scoring and Ali Fasir scored twice while defender Mohamed Rasheed also managed to put his name on the score sheet.

In the 13th minute Umair missed a golden opportunity to broke the deadlock, Fasir supplied a good ball into the box but keeper cleared the ball and it went to Umair but his shot went wide.

A minute later Ibrahim Fazeel opened the scoring from a rebounded ball when keeper cleared the shot from David. Easy finish for Fazeel as he shot the ball into an empty net.

In the 36th minute Hussain Niyaz penetrated the defense line of New Radiant and made a good shot but it went wide.

Five minutes before the break Ali Fasir made a stunning shot inside the box but it went straight to the gloves of the keeper.

In the 42nd minute Umair missed another golden opportunity to double the lead when he got the ball inside the box from a rebounded ball from David’s shot but Umair’s shot went over the bar.

Nine minutes after the break Ali Fasir doubled the lead from a wonderful shot inside the box, his shot hits the top right corner of the goal.

In the 58th minute match referee awarded a penalty kick to Mahibadhoo for a foul committed by Dane on Niyaz inside the box but Niyaz’s spot kick went over the bar.

In the 64th minute, Mohamed Rasheed changed the score line to 3-0 from a shot taken just outside the box. Keeper Jazlan tried to clear it but hits the roof of the net.

Seven minutes before the normal time Ali Fasir scored his second of the day and changed the score line to 4-0.

With this win New Radiant regain the top spot of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi League with 9 points from 3 matches with an advantage of goal difference. Club Eagles also go 9 points from 3 matches.

In the next match of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League AYL will play against Club Valencia on this Thursday night at 2200 hours.
